Summer School Day Five: Movement and The Enabled Space

Bamboozle’s Summer School offers a week of one-day training courses running from Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August. Join us at the Curve Theatre in Leicester for a series of inspiring, hands-on sessions – plus one outdoor course held at Rowley Fields Allotments in Leicester.

These courses are particularly suitable for artists, practitioners, teachers, teaching assistants, support staff and SENCOs. Each day provides practical techniques, creative approaches, and fresh ideas you can take straight back into your setting.

Day Five: Movement and The Enabled Space

Friday 7th August, 10am – 5pm @ Curve Theatre

This one-day course explores how movement can be a powerful way to connect, express ideas, and keep SEND students engaged.

This course will explore:

  • The nine components of the Bamboozle Approach, with practical ideas for using movement to support participation, exploration, and physical expression.
  • Gentle, responsive ways of leading sessions using very little language, allowing young people to take part in ways that feel right for them and communicate through movement.
  • How to plan clear and meaningful movement activities.
  • Movement as way of communicating – enabling young people to express ideas, emotions, and stories in ways that feel natural and accessible.
  • The basics of contact improvisation, taught through safe, inclusive, and creative activities that build trust, connection, and shared experiences.
  • How to choose movement ideas and structures that best suit the needs of your group, making sessions inclusive, engaging, and meaningful.
