Summer School Day Three: Creating supportive environments for autistic learners

Bamboozle’s Summer School offers a week of one-day training courses running from Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August. Join us at the Curve Theatre in Leicester for a series of inspiring, hands-on sessions – plus one outdoor course held at Rowley Fields Allotments in Leicester.

These courses are particularly suitable for artists, practitioners, teachers, teaching assistants, support staff and SENCOs. Each day provides practical techniques, creative approaches, and fresh ideas you can take straight back into your setting.

Day Three: Creating supportive environments for autistic learners

Wednesday 5th August – 10am to 5pm at Curve Theatre

Through practical exploration and real world examples, you’ll discover how the Bamboozle Approach can transform engagement and open up meaningful pathways for communication and learning.

This course will explore:

  • How the Bamboozle Approach builds trust, reduces anxiety, and sparks engagement for autistic students.
  • Nine practical strategies for reaching students who may be reluctant, withdrawn, or overwhelmed.
  • Real video examples showing the approach in action with autistic young people.
  • Techniques for listening deeply and effectively to understand what students are communicating.
  • Tried and tested workshop ideas suitable for autistic learners.
  • How purposeful observation and non-directive offers can create space for genuine connection.
