Join our Whatsapp Channel for families!

We have made a Whatsapp Channel specifically to keep our Bamboozle families up to date with our sessions, news and opportunities.

It’s free to join, completely anonymous and you can choose to allow notifications. We promise not to bombard families with messages and this isn’t like a normal Whatsapp group so you won’t be able to reply.

You can join our Whatsapp Channel by following these steps:

Click this link if you’re using your phone to open our Whatsapp Channel invite.

Or follow these steps below:

Open WhatsApp on your mobile device.

Go to the Updates tab:
- - Android: Tap Updates at the top of the screen.
  - iOS: Tap the Updates icon at the bottom left or bottom menu.

Scroll down past your status updates to the Channels section.

Find our channel by:
- - Search by Name: Tap the Search (magnifying glass) icon at the top of the Updates tab or directory and type the name of our channel: Bamboozle Theatre Company

Preview and Follow:
- - Tap on a channel to preview its recent updates before joining.
  - Tap Follow (or the “+” icon next to the channel) to subscribe.

Access Your Channels: All the channels you follow will now show up right under the Updates tab for easy viewing.

By default, WhatsApp channels are muted when you first follow them. To make sure you never miss an update, you have to turn notifications on manually:

Tap and open the Channel you want alerts from.
Look at the top right corner of the screen for the Notification Bell icon.
- If the bell has a slash through it (\), notifications are muted.
- Tap the bell icon to turn them on. The slash will disappear, confirming you will now receive alerts for new posts.

You can leave our Channel at anytime by doing the following steps:

Tap the Channel you want to leave.
Open the options menu using one of these two ways:
- Three Dots: Tap the three vertical dots (Android) or three horizontal dots (iOS) in the top-right corner.
- Channel Info: Tap the Channel Name at the very top of the screen.
Tap Unfollow

What is a Whatsapp Channel?

A WhatsApp channel is a one-way broadcasting tool that lets organisations, celebrities, and businesses send updates directly to their followers.

Who is this Whatsapp Channel for?

We are starting this Channel for our families so they can stay in touch and see what’s happening with Bamboozle. We are hoping this might be a more accessible method for some families than checking emails.

Why are you starting this Channel?

We are hoping this will be an easy way for our families to see what’s going on at Bamboozle and be notified of our sessions, news or opportunities.

It’s not a requirement for accessing sessions – just a bonus for families who might not enjoy checking emails or find it easier to check Whatsapp. Families on the database will still receive an email when sessions are available before we share in our Channel or on social media.

All the content shared will be relevant for our families and only about Bamboozle’s work.

How many notifications will I get?

You will only receive notifications from us if you enable them (please see our how-to guide above). If you do enable notifications, our aim is to post only as and when sessions, opportunities or news comes up.

Can I respond to the messages?

You can not respond to messages directly but you will be able to react with an emoji. As ever, if you have questions you can email fern@bamboozletheatre.co.uk or call 0116 255 2065.

Can I leave the Channel if it’s not for me?

Absolutely! We want this to be informative and accessible – and definitely not overwhelm any families. You can leave at any time (see our how-to guide above).
