Support our Crowdfunder campaign for ‘Traces’

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our Crowdfunder campaign to bring our outdoor show for autistic audiences, ‘Traces’, to life in 2027!

With your help, we’re aiming to raise £30,000 this year to create more accessible theatre experiences for children.

What are we going to do?

We want to make an outdoor performance where everyone is included, and everyone is welcome.

For over 30 years, we have learnt how to enable autistic children to feel comfortable and accepted.

We have worked with hundreds of families in our outdoor spaces – parents tell us that being in nature is the best place for their children to feel comfortable; but we haven’t produced an outdoor theatrical show.

Why is this needed?

Two reasons:

  1. Autistic children and their families feel excluded from public spaces that are often unwelcoming. Even a bus journey can be distressing when your child is judged and not accepted. This leads to a feeling of isolation.
  2. We know that being outdoors in nature isa great place for autistic young people.

A group of musicians and young people are playing instruments and sticks gathered around a microphone in the woods.

The result will be an outdoor performance accessible to everyone

The show is titled: “Traces – Outdoor Theatre in the Landscape.” Autistic children and their families in Leicestershire and across the UK will have a theatre show that they know is for them.

The show will be performed in woodlands, parks and at festivals where all children and their families will feel comfortable and be accepted. Everyone will be able to access the show in their own way and at their own pace.

What do we need?

This is where you come in. We need your help to make this happen.

We have been working for two years in partnership with Artevox, an Italian company, to devise the show. The Italian version, ‘Tracce’, will premiere at the Vimercate Festival in May this year.

We need £30,000 to make the English version happen. This is so that we can create the setting, make the props and costumes, hire the actors, rehearse and then tour the show. Creating and touring work is at the heart of our company but, like many other small arts organisations, the funding landscape has been challenging.

This is an exciting opportunity to help make something truly unique happen.
