Creating & Using Multi-Sensory Environments

How to create Multi-Sensory Environments – Quickly and Cheaply

This one-day course is suitable for creative practitioners, teachers, SENCOs, parents, carers, etc. working with children and young people.

“A truly inspiring day led by someone who actually knows their stuff”. Donna Tebbatt.

This practical course will show how simple materials and methods can be used to create stimulating environments that offer many teaching and learning opportunities. They take into account two major challenges that teachers face: not enough time and not enough money.

The Course will:

  • Show ways to use cheap [or free] materials/props/objects to create stimulating environments with learning potential.
  • Demonstrate how to build an environment in minutes that can be used in a variety of ways – drama, problem solving, playing, storytelling.
  • Show how to create environments where exciting discoveries can be made.
  • Explain ways of structuring the space to accommodate a range of abilities.
  • Give lots of simple ideas to take into school/home/specialist settings to use immediately.
  • Look at ways to use the Multi-sensory Environments when they are in place.
  • Reach the end of the day inspired to make use of simple materials with your children and young people.

The course is based on the book: “Creating Multi-Sensory Environments – Practical Ideas for Teaching and Learning”, written by Christopher Davies, Bamboozle’s Artistic Director. The book can be purchase by visiting our Shop.

“Inspirational – fun and enjoyable”. Sadie Oxspring.
